Climate change and wildfires
Our home planet has got alot going on. Fires in california and oregon turned the skies orange. Flooding in Senegal and Sudan has farmers worried about the future. And fires have broken out in Beirut Port, following last month massive explosion.
Wildfires have burned a record _breaking 1 25 millions hectares in california as of mid September, 2020. While in Oregon, a half million people are under fire evacuation warning or order.
The devastation was predicated  by some climate experts, who have been sounding the alarm for a long time. According to the University of California modeling and simulation work for years  that indicates severe widespread fire season are coming.
Human are making the situation worse in a number of ways.
Fire is a natural part of US  Western coast ecosystems. Fires would burn on the forest floor clearing out vegetation between large tree,  fire_ hardy trees. But for decades, residents and industries in the region have worked to tamp fires down as much as possible.
The forest have grown denser as a result, and also more vulnerable to drought
When a fire breaks out, it can spread more easily from tree to tree.
Also, a growing number of people are living in vulnerable areas, near wilderness, flood stream raising the risk of loss of life and property.
