Torrential rains and floodings in Sudan
Torrential rains and floodings are affecting Sudan, South Sudan, East Coast of the united States, and many places elsewhere in the world.
According to Sudan’s Humanitarian Commission (HAC), more than 557,000 were affected in 17 out of Sudan’s 18 State’s. More than 111,000 houses were either destroyed or damaged. The floods also damaged 1,700 ha of agricultural land, 179 public facilites ( schools, health centers,  government offices, and 359 shops and warehouses, and killed 5,500bheaf of  livestock.
The report produced by HAC on September 8th state that the most urgent needs are shelter, non_ food items, and WASH services. Readiness to respond to health situation as a result of floods and vector borne diseases is urgent.
In the Philipnes,  torrential rain and rampaging  flood waters damaged infrastructure, public and personal properties, and displaced thousands of people.
While in the United States, millions are bracing for more deadly and catastrophic flooding on the East Coast as more heavy rains threaten an already South Carolina by mid September.
